Dr. Umoh Enoima Essien

Dr. Enoima Essien Umoh is a Nigerian computer scientist, researcher, and senior academic in the Department of Computer Science, University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), Nigeria. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the same institution, and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Uyo.
With over three decades of professional experience spanning industry and academia, Dr. Umoh has established himself as an accomplished scholar in computer science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, machine learning, multimedia information retrieval, computer networks, and mobile computing. Prior to joining academia, he worked in software development, computer systems maintenance, and information technology services, providing him with extensive practical experience that complements his teaching and research.
Dr. Umoh began his academic career at The Polytechnic, Calabar, before joining the Cross River University of Technology (now the University of Cross River State), where he has progressed through the academic ranks to Senior Lecturer. He teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Advanced Software Engineering, Advanced Computer Programming, Advanced Internet Programming, Advanced Computer Architecture, and ICT Research Methodology. He has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, contributing significantly to the development of future computer scientists and ICT professionals.

His ongoing research focuses on automatic text summarization using deep learning techniques, intelligent healthcare information systems, and advanced multimedia retrieval architectures.
He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and academic books published in reputable national and international journals. His recent publications focus on machine learning applications in telecommunications, cybersecurity, malware detection, network performance optimization, and intelligent authentication systems.
Dr. Umoh is actively involved in academic research and professional development and has participated in several national and international conferences. He is a member of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
His scholarly contributions continue to advance research in intelligent computing, secure information systems, telecommunications analytics, and software engineering, with particular emphasis on applying emerging technologies to solve practical challenges in education, healthcare, telecommunications, and public administration.
